Overview
Ashlar is designed to collect as little as possible. This page explains what the app stores and what it doesn’t.
What Ashlar stores
Your meditation history — the dates, durations, and ambient backgrounds you chose. That’s it. There is no account, no profile, and no other personal information collected by the app.
Where it’s stored
Meditation history is stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud backup enabled, your history is included in that backup so it can be restored if you reinstall Ashlar or switch devices. Northlight does not have a server, and does not receive or store copies of your meditation history.
In-app purchase
Ashlar offers a recurring subscription to unlock the full library of guided sessions and ambient backgrounds. This purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; Northlight does not receive or store any payment information.
Audio
Guided meditation audio and ambient backgrounds are bundled with the app. No audio is recorded, transmitted, or stored on any server. What you hear is what shipped with the app.
Analytics and tracking
Ashlar does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. Nothing about your use of the app is sent to Northlight or any other party.
Children’s privacy
Ashlar is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
