Meridian is the alarm clock app that does not jolt you. Audio rises gradually across the window before your wake time, so you surface from lighter sleep instead of being torn out of deep sleep. The same ambient library plays at the start of the night as a wind-down. It works on the phone alone. No smart bulbs, no hub, no extra hardware. A real sunrise lamp does something an audio ramp can not — it changes the light in the room. But most sunrise alarm setups expect a smart bulb or a HomeKit hub, and many people do not have either. Meridian works on the phone you already carry.

The same ambient library plays at the start of the night as a wind-down. Meridian does not claim to replace a real sunrise lamp. It gives you a gradual audio alarm when you want no smart-light setup.
